Trials usually take place around 2-3 months before the wedding. I’ll be In touch when it’s time to get yours booked in. In the mean time take a look a few tips below on how to get the most out of your bridal trial and of course let me know if you have any questions.
Please come bare faced
Complete your usual skincare routine on the morning of the trial. Ideally come with no makeup on but please don’t feel pressured too. If you’d rather come wearing makeup that’s ok.
To tan or not to tan?
Consider if you’re having a fake tan or even if you will of been in the sun before your wedding day. It maybe a good idea to apply some fake tan before the trial or have a trial run for your spray tan. You’ll be able to get an idea of what day the tan is wearing best on also and then how far before the wedding to have it done. Skintone can massively impact choices of tones used for eyes and lips so it’s important that you are near to the shade your likely to be for your wedding where possible.
Brows and lashes
If you usually have your brows waxed / threaded, it’s helpful to have your treatment also done before your trial appointment if possible. Really helps for you to see how it will look on the day.
I unfortunately can’t apply false lashes onto LVL / permed lashes especially if it’s freshly done. I don’t usually advise semi permanent lashes either for the wedding day. This is due to the makeup not sitting as well around them and not be able to use mascara on the lashes.
But if you are a semi permanent lash wearing don’t worry we can chat through this on the trial. There’s a few options.
What to wear?
Wear a colour and neckline that is close to your wedding dress if possible. Feel free to bring along jewellery or accessories. This helps for you to see how things all look together.
Style your hair
Style your hair in a similar way to how you’ll be having it on your wedding day or better still arrange your makeup and hair trial on the same day. Maybe make a day of it and booking a dress fitting too!
Makeup inspiration
Have a look and gather some inspiration for how you’d like your makeup to be. Have a look through my portfolio, other makeup artists work and red carpet makeup looks can be helpful. I’d avoid heavily edited or filtered images which seem to pop up a lot on Pinterest. We will have a look through these images and talk through what you like about them.
We will chat through how you usually wear your makeup too, it can be really helpful to have a photo of when you’ve loved how your makeup looked. What do you love about your face? eg you’d like to make your eyes the feature or what you’d like to conceal.
We will look through your wedding plans, colours/styles and ideas. So anything you want you bring along to show me, I’d love to see.
